Welcome to the English Bowls Umpires Association
The EBUA is the unified governing body for qualified Bowls Umpires in England. With over 600 members, our umpires are graded at different levels including Markers, Regional, National and International Umpires. We are responsible for appointing Umpires to any events as requested by the local, national and international governing bodies of the Sport of Bowls.
Our training and development program is intensive, from the introduction of new candidates to experienced and international officials. We strive to continually update our skills and knowledge and apply the latest innovations to the best of our ability. We provide our members with guidance, support, access to resources and opportunities to further their personal growth and development.
We are committed to the highest standards of sportsmanship and umpiring. Our aim is to promote the sport of Bowls with fairness, respect and integrity. We will continue to work hard to ensure the quality of umpiring is maintained at all levels.
The Association is run by an Executive Committee consisting of the Officers of the Association and six Area Secretaries.
To better manage the Association, England has been divided into six geographical regions, each with up to seven counties.
Area Secretaries are responsible for conducting the business within their respective areas. For more information, please visit the Contacts page.
